Holiday's

Youth Cancer Trust

If you are a young person with cancer, between the ages of 14 and 30 and live in the UK, the Youth Cancer Trust can provide a free holiday in Bournemouth. They are open all year round and take groups of 8 people at a time. The holidays take place from Monday to Friday and you can take a friend or sibling. Meals, activities and accommodation are free.

Holiday Grants

Holiday grants are given for the benefit of the severely disabled child. They must normally be used towards the cost of a family holiday that includes the disabled child.

Clic Sargent

CLIC Sargent can offer you the use of one of their holiday caravans in Devon, West Suffolk or West Sussex.

They also offer a family centred holiday in Malcolm Sargent House in Ayrshire. Malcolm Sargent House can offer a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities.

Wishes and special days

Ask your TYA Specialist Nurse, Youth Support coordinator or CLIC Sargent worker to get in contact and help with any applications.

Willow

The Willow foundation provides special days for you and one other person. They will make all the arrangements for a special day of your choice and will pay for all of the day.

Examples of wishes include city breaks, premiership football matches, a day shopping in London, a day at a health spa.

Make a Wish

Make-a-Wish grants wishes for people up to 18 years of age who have cancer. They offer to grant the wish and make all the arrangements for you. They pay for all elements of your wish or day.

Starlight

Starlight grants wishes for young people with cancer. Examples of wishes include meeting celebrities, shopping sprees, computers, and trips away. You decide what you want to wish for and they will organise and pay for your day.

Anyone can refer a child to Starlight for a wish – whether you are a parent, grandparent, medical professional, friend or social worker. A few simple criteria have to be met. The child must:

• be diagnosed with for example: leukaemia or a brain tumour
• be aged between 4-18 years inclusive
• be able to choose and articulate the wish for themselves
• not have received a wish from another wish granting organisation

Round Table Children’s Wish Charity

Round table grants wishes to young people who have a life threatening illness.

• You must be between the ages of 3-17 as well as be diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.
• You must live in Great Britain or the Republic of Ireland.
• You should not have had, nor be going to have, a Wish granted by another Wish granting charity or organisation. After all, there is a huge number of people who have not had the benefit of any Wish being granted to them.

Anyone can refer a child

• This can be done quite simply by contacting the office for an informal and confidential discussion.
• There is a simple application process which must be completed by parents/guardians.
• The Wish request must be that of the child, and not what the family would like their child to receive.

Rays of Sunshine

Rays of Sunshine Children's Charity exists to grant the wishes of children who are living with serious or life-threatening illnesses between the ages of 3-18 who live in the United Kingdom. With your help they and their families can experience the joy and excitement of doing something they've only ever dreamt of before. Help us turn wishes into happy memories.
